If you enjoy sewing with knit fabric, you probably have a lot of offcuts and smaller pieces of fabric lying around from previous sewing projects. If so, they're ideal for underwear!

Following the success of Whitney Knickers Kids, I was inspired to create an adult version. While working on the kids version, I discovered that many of us in the community have difficulty finding ready-to-wear underwear that fits comfortably all day. As a "top heavy" person, what fits around the waist does not fit around the hip (I have a thick waist with no bum), so I have to sew for myself to get a good fit. I draft my patterns based on measurements so that if you need to manually grade you'll be able to get the perfect fit and I include examples of this in the sewing tutorial.

Whitney Ladies Knickers is a no-fuss everyday underwear pattern that has been designed with coverage and comfort in mind. It gives you the option of sewing a one piece (no gusset) or two piece version (hidden seam gusset). This low to medium rise full coverage underwear pattern is also available in two leg band sizes.

One Piece - Ideal for non directional print fabric (no gusset option)

Two Piece - Ideal for non directional and directional print and those who prefer enclosed crotch seams

SIZES

This pattern comes in size XS to 5XL catering to hip measurement 32" to 54". It is recommended you refer to the size chart for best fit.

FABRIC AND NOTION REQUIREMENT

Fabric that has 4 way stretch with  a minimum of 50% stretch and 5% elasticity, suitable for knit fabrics.
