Elastic can be replaced with 100% thermoplastic polyurethane semi-transparent tape (also known as lastin). More durable than rubber. It's washable and dry-cleanable. Will stretch more than 400% (unlike elastics, which only stretch 150%). Mobilon tape is a type of elastic tape that is ideal for reinforcing seams or adding stretch to fabrics, particularly at cuffs, hems, and waistbands.
